Arts in Education: The PTA provides special in-school educational programs for the children several times a year.
School Supplies: School supplies can be ordered each spring for the following school year through the PTA. School supplies will be available for delivery. This committee organizes the ordering of the boxes.
Book and Author: The PTA brings a children’s author to Robbins Lane to give a presentation. Generally run under Arts in Education.
Book Fairs: Twice a year, the PTA partners with Scholastic to conduct a sale of popular books during the school day. .
Box Tops: Parents sign up to accumulate “Box Tops for Education” while shopping from various product boxes so that the PTA can purchase games and activities for the classes. The chair of this committee assists with this process.
Budget: A council committee whose members act as a liaison between parents, Board of Education and Administration by disseminating budget information.
By-Laws: A council committee which reviews and updates unit by-laws as needed.
Clothing Sale: Clothing with Syosset and Robbins Lane logos are offered for sale both in the fall and spring. The chair of this committee helps picking out the products sold and with the sale of these products.
Community Service: The PTA in partnership with student council, organizes several community service programs throughout the year for children and their families to participate in. The chair of this committee acts as a liaison between PTA and the student organization and offers support where needed.
Cultural Unity: A committee that seeks to celebrate the evolving and growing diversity in our community. The committee will assist families that are transitioning into our schools with various resources, including a buddy program.
Stationary: The PTA sells pads that can be used to write notes to teachers and staff for any occasion. The chair of this committee organizes the ordering and selling of these items.
Fall Festival: A safe, fun-filled evening event at Robbins Lane. Students celebrate the fall season with music, dancing, games, activities and much more. The chair(s) of this committee organize and run the event with the help of the PTA and parent volunteers.
Family Nights: Activities are scheduled to provide families and friends an opportunity to socialize after school hours. Among the planned activities may be a sports night, bingo, movie night, skating and more. The chair(s) of these events will help plan and organize a variety of family nights throughout the year.
Field Day: The PTA provides lunch and support to the teachers along with encouragement to the students as they compete in various outdoor activities throughout the day.
Fifth Grade Committee: A committee made up of parents of 5th graders that plan special activities for the 5th graders, including a graduation celebration.
Fifth Grade Fun Day: A special day just for 5th graders.
Ladies Night: This memorable night out offers the opportunity to enjoy good food, superb company, and a little dancing for those so inclined.
Garden: The PTA, along with the Student Council, created and maintains a flower garden of annuals and perennials in front of the school, as well as a vegetable garden.
Health and Nutrition: A council committee that deals with issues affecting health, nutrition, and fitness within the community.
Holiday Boutique: For the holiday season, our PTA offers a wide assortment of reasonably priced items for sale.
Hospitality: This committee arranges for refreshments at various PTA meetings and functions.
International Night: We will have food, music, art, etc. representing various countries.
Kindergarten Orientation: The PTA, in conjunction with the principal, organizes the orientation for all incoming kindergarten students for the following school year.
Know Your Candidate: A council committee that introduces the candidates for the School Board.
Legislation: A council committee that receives and reports on all legislation about education throughout the year.
Membership: A committee that collects dues for the annual membership in the National and New York PTAs.
Newcomers' Tea: An informal gathering is held at the beginning of the school year to welcome the parents of all kindergartners and new families to the school.
PARP: “Pick a Reading Partner” is a multi-week program of fun activities and events to encourage and foster the love of reading.
Press Conference: A council committee responsible for collecting questions to be brought to the Administration twice a year.
Publicity: We share the many activities and accomplishments of our children and the PTA with the community by submitting pictures and articles to local papers and posting them on our website.
Rec Nights: A night of recreational fun for each grade, supervised by parent volunteers, is held at Robbins Lane for all students.
Reflections: A council committee that coordinates our entries in the annual National PTA Reflections competition in the areas of Visual Art, Music, Literature, Dance Choreography, Film Production and Photography.
Restaurants Nights: A fundraiser in which Robbins Lane gets a percentage of money taken in by specific restaurants at specific times.
Room Reps: Volunteer parents from each class are chosen to help classroom teachers coordinate parties and to provide support for field trips. Room Reps are also responsible for soliciting help for PTA events from the parents in their class when needed. Room Reps must attend PTA meetings. Two or three room reps will be assigned to each class; one will be the initial contact person.
Scholarship: A council committee that coordinates a fundraising drive, which provides scholarships for high school seniors.
School and Community: A council committee that studies and reports on concerns of the school and community, including environmental concerns, zoning changes, land development, etc.
SEPTA: Liaison between the Special Education PTA and the Robbins Lane PTA unit.
Spring Plant Sale: In honor of the special women in the children’s lives, the PTA provides a beautiful selection of plants to purchase.
Staff Recognition Luncheon: In late spring, the parents provide a beautiful lunch for teachers and staff to thank them for a job well done.
Student Directory: Responsible for gathering all the information and organizing it into the Student Directory.
Syosset Council: The Robbins Lane PTA, in conjunction with the PTAs from all other Syosset schools, participates in many district-wide committees and works in cooperation with the Syosset administration. (Council Delegate is an elected position)

Welcome Back Movie Night: An outside movie night at the beginning of the year to welcome back students is held at Robbins Lane for all children. This event takes place after school hours.
