1. Why and how should I join the PTA (Parent Teacher Association)?
Membership will be available online through robbinslanepta.memberhub.com. Please see our membership page at robbinslanepta.com for more information. As a PTA member, you will receive access to the Robbins Lane Directory App. Everything we do is done for the children at Robbins Lane so come join in the fun!
2. How do I contact the PTA?
You can always email us with any questions, comments, or problems. You can also fill out a contact form on the website. Our email is robbinslanepta@gmail.com.
3. Where does the money that the PTA raises from fundraisers go?
All of the money that the PTA raises goes to various events for the children.
Most school assemblies are brought to Robbins Lane by the PTA. The PTA also runs other events, including a Halloween Event, Book and Author, and PARP. The PTA is a non-profit organization, and fundraising is very important so we can provide these events to our community.
4. Is there a class/school directory?
Yes! The Robbins Lane Directory is online and can be downloaded as an App. All directory information can be found on our website, including adding/changing your directory information, receiving weekly PTA emails, and receiving occasional text messages. Please note that you must be a paid PTA member to access the Directory.*
5. When is...? Can you tell me more about...?
Sure. The answers to (almost) all of your questions about PTA events and fundraisers at school can be found on our website. The website also has the monthly calendar.
6. Who do I contact with questions about specific events or committees?
The names and contact information for PTA executive board members and the committee chair people for every committee are listed on the site on our volunteer page.
7. That sounds like fun, how do I volunteer?
We love volunteers! Please see our list of committees and let us know how you would like to help. We can use volunteers to run various events and welcome all ideas for virtual events. Every little bit helps our kids!
8. How do I order lunch?

9. Do I send my child snack? When do they have snack?
Your child's teacher will let you know what you can send in and when snack will be, as it differs for each classroom. Also remember to send in a water bottle or drink each day.
10. I saw an email about an event and I have no idea what it is (or, what in the world is PARP?)!
Almost all PTA events and committees are listed on our website. There is an explanation listed and you can always email us for more information.
11. How do I send something in to the PTA Mailbox?
Any forms, checks, or RSVPs can be sent directly to the PTA mailbox. Just write "PTA Mailbox" and the relevant event name on the envelope and send it in your child's folder to school.
12. Who do I make a check out to?
All checks for PTA-related things are made out to "Robbins Lane PTA.”
13. What is SEPTA?
SEPTA is the Special Education Parent Teacher Association that serves Syosset School District's children with disabilities and their families. Membership is open to all and is not exclusive to families who have children with special needs.
14. Do I need to need to notify the school if my child will be absent?
Yes, you must call the absence line for Robbins Lane and report your child's absence. The phone number is (516) 364-5808.
15. What if English is not my first language?
The Syosset Council of PTAs has established a Cultural Unity committee that can help you. Please see the information on our website for more details and to sign up for a "buddy" who can help translate flyers.
