Updates from the Syosset Council of PTAs

 The School and Community committee is running a drive to benefit the St. Edward Food Pantry from November 3-24. Each school lobby will have a box/bin for donations, and there's also an Amazon wish list, allowing people to send items directly to the food pantry. The food pantry is in desperate need of food and other items.  

 The Parent Resource Group will hold its first presentation of the school year on November 25th at 7:30 p.m. This will be a virtual presentation by Scott Falkowitz, a child and adolescent psychiatrist and the Associate Director for School-Based Mental Health at Northwell.

The presentation will focus on how to navigate support for children and help parents recognize when intervention is needed—both in and out of school. It will also provide best practices for supporting anxious children and those who may require mental health services, and will highlight valuable resources available through our district’s partnership with Northwell.

 We believe this will be a very informative event for parents of children of all ages, and we hope to see everyone on Zoom on November 25th! Register Here by November 24th.

The Syosset Scholarship Fund is looking for donations to help support this incredible scholarship available to all graduating seniors. Please see the flyer for more information and ways to donate. We are excited to share that Playa Bowls in Woodbury will participate in a monthly Dine and Donate program. The 1st Wednesday of every month all school year, 20% of all sales will be donated to the Syosset Scholarship Fund (mention the Syosset Scholarship Fund upon ordering). This applies to door dash orders too, put Scholarship Fund in the comments.
